Smashing Records and Goals

Smashing Records and Goals
My goal for this new race season was to break the 2 hour mark on a half marathon (yes, I am that slow).  I figured it would take till early 2011 to accomplish this goal.  My other goal was to break my PR of 2:06:01.

Both goals were SMASHED at yesterday's 2nd Annual Florida Halloween Halfathon.  My new PR is 1:56:29.   I beat my old PR by almost 10 minutes!!  In less than 1 year I have gone from 2:33:32 to 1:56:29.

The funny part is I had to run "naked".  My Garmin watch went dead before the race started so I was running completely blind.  I had to relay on pacing with other racers.

Tomorrow I will post the race review for the 2nd Annual Florida Halloween Halfathon

  3. Great job! Love that feeling (and I would love to even beat your 'slow' time...I'm still hoping to someday come in under 2:30 - I only just barely came in under 3:00!)
but with 45 pounds gone and time to lose that other 45 - I'm planning on doing MUCH better in 2011~

  8. Dude! Awesome time... Especially without pacing. Fast is a relative term-focus on the improvements you've made vs. comparing your time to others' :)

  9. @Jarrent - Thank you for stopping by. I learned long ago not to compare my times to others. It usually leads to disappointment. I am never at the front of the pack during the races (thus the name and logo of the blog). Sometimes I am near the end. :-) I just compete against myself. It's more fun that way.
