I took the Cycling Savvy course and the moment I started controlling the lane I was amazed at the change. All those close calls were totally my fault for hugging the curb. I highly recommend this course to everyone.
I wonder how CA compares to FL. I know any motor vehicle rule applies to cyclists, which is why it irks the heck out of me when I see someone riding on the sidewalk (completely illegal) or wearing earphones (also completely illegal if you are cycling on a public road). Our bike lanes are pretty wide where I live, so I think I'll stick with them instead of taking my chances with the cars. If I lives in very flat Florida, I might reconsider.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that! I live in a province that just started to construct bike lanes so I've had to be street savvy for some time now :)
