So I signed up for my first "official" marathon. I say "official" because I did complete an ultra 30 mile race (really 31.25 miles) about 2 years ago. See post here. It was not official because I was officially signed up for the 15 mile race. Bonnie loves to remind me of that. :-) But I did run over 30 miles so it counts in my books.
I will be doing the 26.2 With Donna in Jacksonville, FL in February. I've done their 13.1 for many years and love the race. The 26.2 should also be fun.
I will be doing the marathon in preparation for the Ironman Florida FULL 2014. Yes, I will be doing my first FULL Ironman in 2014!

WORLD RECORD We made it!!!
WORLD RECORD We made it!!! Longest human chain across a body of water (500 meters)
This weekend I participated in creating the world's longest human chain across a body of water (500 meters). It took 345 people, hand and hand, to create the 500 meter chain across the lake. Lucky (who holds the world's record for the largest Yoyo collection) and Mi organized this event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Orange County Special Olympics swim team at the YMCA Aquatic center. The event raised just over $7714 for the Special Olympics program.
It was an awesome and fun event.

Day "Off"
You know you have a problem when you day off looks like this:
* 5:30 AM (which is sleeping in)
Get up to go swim 2000m
* 11:00AM - 3:00PM
Rush home to pick up wife. Drive one hour each way to cycle 50 miles in 105F heat index weather.
* 4:00PM - 5:30PM
Rush home, shower, eat and take a 30 minute nap.
* 6:00PM - 10:00pm
Rush to a special Rotary event meeting. Complain you did not make it home by your 9:00PM bed time
Darn...I'm tired... I need a day at my job!!
