Translation Tuesday - Dedication

Dedication (noun)

Normal Definition
- Self-sacrificing devotion (Webster)

My Definition
- All three of the following examples I had the dedication (and humility) to suffer through this week.

Swimming for 30 minutes in the
over-chlorinated gym pool WITHOUT any goggles
because I accidentally left them at home.
BTW: I had no Visine either.

Running for an hour in the Florida heat and then
forgetting your showering towel.
It's always fun drying yourself with cheap
paper towels after your shower.
People look at you real strange after you take
50% of the remaining paper towels to dry your
naked body.

Cycling on the trainer for 1 hour in your dress shoes
because your forget your gym shoes at home.
This got some strange looks.

  1. I'm not sure if I was suppose to laugh at this but I'm giggling out loud here at work. Shhh, don't tell anyone! HAHAHAHA! I've never seen you before but I now have this image of some guy drying himself out with paper towels! Brilliant! The shoes are a nice touch but HEY, you did it! Plus, you're an Ironman which means you can get away with anything! :)

  2. LOL. Even I had to laughed at this. You have to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes. It was a comical sight.

You have to watch out for paper cuts when you dry yourself with paper towels.

I'm only a half Ironman so I can only get away with half the amount of stuff. :-) The other half you have to laugh at!

  3. Funny you mention the abs on the wet suit! When I was trying this one on, the girl who works at the store was telling me about that same exact suit (with the abs)! She said that it's super expensive but cool as hell!!
