31st Annual Horrible Hundred 2010

Annual Horrible Hundred Cycling Ride

This Sunday is the the Horrible Hundred cycling ride.  This is a monster of a ride in the "Florida Mountains" of Central Florida.  This is where the hills have names (see my previous post).  If you live in Florida you must do this ride. That way you can share in my pain.  This is a great ride put on by the Florida Freewheelers.  I am a member of the cycling group and they are great people to cycle with.

Here is where I need your help.  Should I do the 35, 70 or 100 mile ride?  What do you think?  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.  Comical and ridiculous comments are always welcome.  Do you want to torture me with the 100 or make me look like a wuss on the 35? ;-)

  1. What is so horrible about it? Isnt Florida flat as a pancake? Personally I like metric centuries, so I say the 70.

  2. We all know you're not going to do the 35. Since I'll be out of town doing a marathon Sunday morning you might as well be in pain Sunday night w/ me and do the 100:)

  3. @Bonster LOL. Nice name!! Family members are excluded from being able to make smart comments. :-). Since you are out of town Angel and I will skip the ride and throw a wild party at the house!!

  4. @big daddy diesel: You would be surprised how hilly Clermont is. It's no Rocky Mountains but they are tough.

  6. Well...you shouldn't ask me...I would go for the 100 miles. But that mentality is probably what got me injured...So...the wise thing to do might be the 70.

  7. Do the 70 (really 74). The only difference between the 70 & 100 is the flat section in/around Mascotte. Who needs flats? ;-)

PS - That was you in the car this afternoon near David's Cycles, right?

  8. @Sherley: Yes that was me that honked and said hello at David's. I hope to see you tomorrow. Have fun!! I will be on the ugly blue Cannondale.
